In this post we are going to cover the best practice for mechanical dishwashing.
Before you load the dishwasher
Make sure that the salt reservoir is filled to the correct level using an appropriate dishwasher salt. Do not use table salt, gritting salt or agricultural salt.
Fill the appropriate reservoir with an appropriate rinsing agent that is suitable for commercial dishwashers. The rinsing agent prevents ‘spots’ from forming on the dishes when they dry.
Fill the appropriate reservoir with an appropriate professional dishwasher detergent that is suitable for commercial dishwashers. Do not use detergents designed for domestic use.
Effective use of the dishwasher
Use a knife or rubber spatula to scrape residue food from crockery, cutlery and utensils.
Pre-soak items that have been used for baking in detergent.
For best results do not crowd the dishes when you are loading the dishwasher. Make sure that the water jets can reach every surface.
Clean your dishwashers regularly using an appropriate dishwasher cleaner product.
Inspect the filters on a regular basis, remove and clean them with an appropriate filter cleaner. Dry them before replacingin the dishwasher.
The spray arm of your dishwasher should be inspected periodically and cleaned with an approriate dishwasher cleaner. Unscrew the spray arm, remove and clean. Rinse with water before replacing it in the machine.
