We’re going to cover best practice for cleaning ovens in this blog post.
Fill a large sink with hot water and detergent diluted according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Ensuring that the oven is switched off and fully cooled, remove the racks and drip guards from the grills and soak them for up to 20 minutes before cleaning.
Use an abrasive pad to thoroughly clean the racks and drip guards. Rinse and allow them to dry, or dry with a disposable cloth or paper wiper.
Using a griddle cleaner remove surface grease and other residues and scrape the top, sides and bottom of the inside of each grill to remove carbon grit. Ensure that you have removed all residues from the inside of each grill.
Use an appropriate grill cleaner or grill sanitiser to clean the inside of the grill.
Using a strong disposable cloth wipe out the inside of the oven to remove all surface grease.
Apply an appropriate oven cleaner or oven degreasing product to the oven surface. In order to achieve the best results, you should follow the manufacturer’s application instructions carefully, as well as the recommended procedure for rinsing and drying.
Before returning the grill racks and drip guards, check that the oven is completely dry and all cleaner residues have been removed.
When the racks and drip guards are dry return them to the oven.
